What We Do

At Uganda Hands for Hope, we aim to facilitate lasting change and to improve the lives of those in the communities in which we work. Our projects enable our beneficiaries to overcome poverty by strengthening their capacity to help themselves.

Our work is incredibly varied, covering many areas of development. Guided by the ambitions of the community, each project we undertake is strictly monitored to ensure that it is sustainable and effective in assisting the most vulnerable.

A family must work together to create a secure and stable home environment and children must have encouragement at home in order to make progress and develop in school. As such, Uganda Hands for Hope aims to promote economic and social development through its community projects.

Although every person living in the poor conditions of the informal urban settlements needs aid and support, our limited resources force us to focus on the most vulnerable children and families. We determine vulnerability through a series of interviews, assessments and staff discussions. Because of this, the individuals we assist are often orphaned, disabled, and/or affected by war.
